2016 Giant ATX 27.5 2

On the trails or on your way around town, Giant’s ATX 27.5 is your chance to explore new routes. Its lightweight ALUXX-grade aluminum frame features a 100mm-travel suspension fork that floats you over tough terrain. Beneath you, the 27.5-inch wheels accelerate quickly and provide excellent traction. For shifting, Shimano’s 27-speed drivetrain transition smoothly between gears so you can cruise uphill while Tektro mechanical disc brakes control your speed in all weather conditions. And, the reliable Giant-branded stem and saddle are always ready for exploration.

    Comments:

Really enjoy the feel of this bike. I have had it for close to three weeks now. Caught a nail and got a flat on the fist ride, but other then that ive had no problems. Disc brakes work well enough, but i recomend an upgrade at some point. And the bike is a super clunky shifter. But once youve got a feel for the shifting its hardly noticable. All in all for the price the quality is top notch.

    Comments:

This is a great buy. Disc brakes, great looks, and a lightweight frame for under $500. The bike has the ideal 27.5 rim size, great for all around use. Add some bar ends, a seat bag and bottle cage and you are set for some adventure. Couple of improvements would be is to replace the seat. The seat is uncomfortable. for longer than 15 minute rides. Possibly replace the front shock if you are planning on harder use then recreational.

      Comments:

This was my first bike in over 25 years. So far, it has been great! Note that it is a 21 speed, not 27 as listed on the website. I would rate this 5 stars, except for two things: 1) I can't get the brakes to stop squeaking, even after taking it in for servicing. Hopefully my next set of pads will eliminate this. and 2) sometimes it is a little clunky in shifting. Granted, I'm new at this, but I do think it should be shifting a little smoother. Even with those two issues, though, it has been a great bike for the price. I've been enjoying it very much and would buy it again!
