Wahoo Fitness KICKR SNAP Bike Trainer

When the skies open and conspire to spit on a solid day of training, you can sit back and smile—because you're prepared with Wahoo's KICKR SNAP Bike Trainer. It was tucked tidily away in the closet with the clean sheets, just waiting for you. The SNAP keeps you in tune with ANT+ and BLE capabilities so you'll be dialed into smartphones and GPS devices simultaneously or separately.
When you're cranking out the watts, the SNAP's super-stable carbon steel frame will not be moved. Your power is clocked at +/- 5% accuracy, so you'd better be sweating if you want those bragging rights. With a road feel this realistic, and access to more third party apps than any other trainer, you might even forget the great outdoors tried to soak you.

    Great trainer

    By Kraigers1

    About Me

    Comments:

Upgraded to this trainer from a non-smart one; what a difference. This is totally reliable and you're able to push it hard core. Unless you're a pro trainer, there's no reason to spend more on the higher-end one. You may want to spring for a trainer tire and a cadence sensor if you don't already have one, though - so factor that into your expenses.

    Quality product

    By Jp093

    About Me

    Comments:

The snap is an awesome tool that is as easy to use as it is to setup. With all the Wahoo and third party apps available there are many structured training programs to choose from to keep the suffer going thru the cold wet winter months in N.E. Self admittedly I'm not a tech savvy guy and I've had no problems using the snap and pairing with any of the available apps and sensors I have. I've already recommended it to friends

    Great when paired with Zwift

    By DonT99

    About Me

    Comments:

I couldn't bear the idea of another winter on my old dumb trainer so I ordered the Kickr Snap to use with Zwift. It is a little pricey but what a great setup. It really feels like riding outdoors. Now instead of dreading my indoor rides I actually look forward to them! The Kickr Snap was very easy to setup and works great with both the Wahoo Fitness app and the Zwift Mobile app when paired with my android phone via bluetooth. I am definitely happy with my purchase.

This is my first trainer and I opted with Wahoo after extensive research. Easy setup, integrated well with my accessories/training website. Can't wait to simulate my outdoor rides on the trainer!

Steep learning curve but should be worth it

    About Me

    Comments:

Fairly complicated and a little buggy when third party programs are open at same time as Wahoo Fitness. Documentation is sparse but online help is available. I use Cadence and Tickr with unit which adds to problems.

Sent it back. Waiting for replacement

    By Mel42pt

    About Me

    Comments:

After a month of trying to problem solve spin down issues and sudden intense resistance changes while riding, the company said it must be a unit issue and it was sent back. Melinda was very helpful. I am hopefully the replacement is the answer. Fingers crossed because I have high hopes for the kickr

Very nice trainer but minor Bluetooth issues

    By jee27

    About Me

    Comments:

I started using the Snap this week in combination with Zwift. I used it four times in the last 5 days and I'm very please with the fact that it mimics very well actual road conditions. It's built with quality parts. Regarding improvements I would have liked to see a slightly wider base since it tends to move left and right during sprints (perfectly fine when sitting down). The Bluetooth connection is not always detected by my computer via Zwift and roughly 50% of the time I need to either restart my computer or unplug the Snap a few times (I lose about 5-7 min when this happens). I also do from time to time during a long ride to tighten the back screw, especially when climbing at 7%+. Overall I'm very pleased and couldn't go without it this coming winter.

    Nice upgrade

    By hoodling

    from Portland, OR

    About Me

    Comments:

Prior to this I was using a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine and was happy with it, but I kept hearing about smart trainers. After using the Kickr Snap for several rides I'm happy with my upgrade. If I just want to ride I can hop on and use it similar to the KK, but with ERG mode I can get very structured, very good workouts when I want/need them. Compared to the KK, the Snap is quieter, but I think this is due to the fact I'm normally going slower since with ERG mode I don't need to be at high speeds to hit my power targets. I think the KK was a touch more stable. If I wobble back and forth and I can feel a bit more movement in the Snap than I did with the KK Road Machine. To be clear, I never feel either would tip over without trying to make it happen. As for my experience with ERG mode, you do need to keep your RPMs up. If you pause for any reason, it can be extremely tough to get going again. As long as you continue to move, its great. I have also noticed a large difference in power readings between the Snap and my 4iiii Precision power meter, but I'm not terribly concerned with this, as I'm not sure which one is real. I hope the 4iiii as it's reading much higher. I do think some of the variation is in my pedal smoothness, or lack there of. Part of me wishes I would have spent the extra cash on the Kickr, but I like being able to keep the wheel on.

    Kickr Snap is great!

    By Marcus

from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

    About Me

    Comments:

I have been using a standard "non smart" trainer for about 3 years and recently upgraded to the Kickr Snap. This is one excellent piece of training equipment. After a number ergo sessions and zwift rides I can already feel the improvement out in the real world. Easy to set up and use, it's a great addition to the man cave!!

This and Ergvideo are a potent duo

    By Drew

    from Parker, CO, United States

    About Me

    Comments:

I've used Computrainer since the days of the Nintendo based system and have recommended it for the serious bike rider fora very long time. I found a few years ago the best computer training system for the Computrainer was "ErgVideo," which turned the boring highway to nowhere to a more effective time. When Wahoo came out with the Kicker it was just another device on the market, but then the Ergvideo people incorporated it into their training software and my impression changed. I like the Kicker Snap over computrainer because: 1. Less wires (BT and ANT supported). 2. Much quieter. 3. Easier setup (although the Spin Down on Erg isn't as convenient as the CT). 4. I can use iOS apps with the device.
